Weight Training

The healthiest thing you can do for yourself is lift weights. Make it a routine; make it habitual. Lifting weights benefits your health, appearance, and longevity. Lifting weights is far more important than you think. Remember, not every lifting session needs to be your best to reap the benefits. Do it honestly and consistently and you will be rewarded. I promise!

Here are just a few reasons lifting weights is important:

• Increases metabolic rate. The muscle cells in your body use energy, while fat cells store energy.

• Fortifies the bones, ligaments, and tendons. Strength training helps prevent injuries.

• Makes everyday activities easier.

• Gives your body shape.Decreases disease risks.

gain confidence

Exercise is all about setting and achieving a series of small goals. For example, you may want to walk a half hour every day. Once you gain stamina, you can gradually walk longer distances or even run a mile. Soon, you will increase your distance and speed.

Weight training is similar. Gradually, you will be able to lift heavier weights. By setting small goals, you will improve your stamina, develop endurance, and lose weight.

Exercise promotes a sense of accomplishment by helping you meet small, successive goals. There is always opportunity to set your sights higher and to meet new goals. Each time you succeed, you get a sense of accomplishment and improve your self-confidence.

Strength Training is for everyone.

Strength training is different from weightlifting, bodybuilding, and powerlifting. These activities are often driven by competition with participants vying to lift heavier weights or build bigger muscles than those of other athletes. This can put too much strain on muscles, tendons, and areas of cartilage that haven't fully developed — especially when proper technique is sacrificed in favor of lifting larger amounts of weight. For starters, light resistance and controlled movements are best — with a special emphasis on proper technique and safety. Your can do many strength-training exercises with your own body weight or resistance bands.

build strength

Strong muscles are needed to strengthen bones, control blood sugar, improve cholesterol levels, maintain a healthy weight, reduce joint pain, and fight mild depression. Those things can help you maintain your independence.

Unfortunately with muscles, there's a use-it-or-lose-it effect. Inactivity causes a loss of muscle protein, resulting in a decrease in muscle strength. Without continued strength and resistance training, the rate of muscle mass decline is much greater,

If your doctor says it's okay, start a strength training program to supplement moderate-intensity exercise that gets your heart going.

Aim for two to three sessions a week.
We look forward to helping you get stronger.

The benefits of strength training are:

 • Strengthens bones
  • Promotes healthy blood pressure and cholesterol levels
  • Increases muscle strength and endurance
  • Protects muscles and joints from sports-related injuries
  • Improves performance in nearly any sport, from dancing and figure skating to football and soccer
  • Develops proper techniques that you can continue to use as you grow older
  • Improves confidence and self-esteem
  • Helps maintain a healthy weight

Stretching/flexibility

The healthiest thing you can do for yourself is lift weights. Make it a routine; make it habitual. Lifting weights benefits your health, appearance, and longevity. Gives your body shape.Decreases disease risks.

youth training

During childhood, kids improve their body awareness, control, and balance through active play.
As early as age 7 or 8, however, strength training can become a valuable part of an overall fitness plan — as long as the child is mature enough to follow directions and practice proper technique and form.
If your child expresses an interest in strength training, remind him or her that strength training is meant to increase muscle strength and endurance.
Bulking up is something that is most safely done after adolescence, when your child has reached physical and skeletal maturity.
You might also check with your child's doctor for approval to begin a strength training program, especially if your child has a known or suspected health problem — such as a heart condition, high blood pressure, or a seizure disorder.
